About

Son Of Sea (aka Martin MacDonald) is a Melbourne-based singer/songwriter, producer and filmmaker.

The Son Of Sea project began in November 2008 as a challenge to write and record an album in thirty days, coinciding with the demise of Martin’s previous band, The Westminsters.

Although the 30-day challenge proved successful, 2011 finally saw the completion of a proper debut release called The Dreaded Green Bag; a five track EP, each track with its own video accompaniment.

Prior to the move southward Martin was a fixture on the Brisbane music scene, drumming for Granite Lakes, playing bass for Andrew Morris and Danny Widdicombe, and guitar for The Goodbye Horses and The Reversals. More than once this resulted a logistical debacle.

Nowadays, when not producing Son Of Sea material, Martin can been found recording other bands, or making off-kilter short films and music videos.
